January 4th 2010 was the opening of the long awaited Dubai real estate Landmark Burj Dubai Burj This mega skyscraper its final height achieved 828 metres tall 168 floors the super tower is officially the tallest freestanding building in the world. The property dwarfs the previous free standing building Tapei 101 by a massive 319 metres. The Burj Dubai will contain 1044 luxury apartments some offering sea views fom its inland position due to the properties height, the property will also be destined for commercial use with 48 floors of office and will also contain 160 apartments within the ultra exclusive Armani hotel where a 1 bedroom apartment cost as much as 10m aed on launch.
The Burj Dubai will have very high speed elevators travelling to the top of the top in just a couple of minutes where an observation deck will offer panoramic views of Dubai and the Arabian coastline for many miles.
The tower cost $10 billion dollars to construct over 7 several years and conquered many engineering first with such a tall property.
One surprise on the opening ceremony was the renaming of the tower in honour of the UAE royal
Within the Downtown area where Burj Khalifa lies is also the World’s largest Mall located next door with promenades around the huge manmade lake which will be Illuminated by 6,600 lights and 50 colour projectors, it will be 275 m (900 ft) long and will shoot water 150 m (490 ft) into the air, accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world music surrounded by restaurants and the Dubai Mall Burj Dubai certainly an exciting cosmopolitan place to live and work.
Burj Dubai will also house the boutique Armani residence Hotel which will truly be a 5 star of unsurpassed luxury. The facilities within Burj Khaliifa will be unrivalled with leisure facilities, restaurants, cigar club, Swimming Pools etc.
